We stayed 2 days in Takayama. Day 2 was supposed to be rest day. It was meant for us to recuperate from our hectic travel schedule and recharged. As usual, rest was not in our dictionary when we were traveling.Was trying to figure out which destination was worth our visit and we stumbled upon Toyama which was 2 hours away. It was o e of the top 100 spots for Sakura viewing in Japan and it did not disappoint.
We took a boat cruise along the river to view the beautiful sakuras. On hindsight, it would be better to take the leisure walk along the river. This was a hidden spot and it was not crowded at all, what’s more we were there on weekend.
And like in Japan, do as the Japanese do. We had picnic under the trees with lots of local snacks.
On our way back to Toyama station, we encountered the cosplay. Some were quite happy to pose for us.
Toyama was initially not on our list and it turned out to be one of the highlights. Sometimes life just sprung surprises when you least expected it.That is why we keep doing what we do and love what we do. It keep our spirits alive and we grow with each travel experience.
