Peranakan Food Tour – Half Day Tour

Peranakan Food Tour is one of the Singapore Tours offered by UTravel Private Tour.

The Peranakan or Nonya cuisine, originates from Peranakans, the descendants of Chinese migrants, who were settled in Singapore, Malacca, Penang and Indonesia, by marrying the local Malays. The food is a mix of Chinese and other spices, which are incorporated together using cooking techniques from Malay and Indonesian communities.

This paved the way for a type of cuisine that is equally spicy, tasteful, and herbal. Interested to learn more about the Peranakan culture and food? Then, embark with us on an interesting journey into the history, lifestyle and unique culture of the Peranakan Noynas and Babas by sampling flavourful, colourful and delicious Peranakan food and watching hardworking craftsmen at work.
