Day 1: Taipei – Taipingshan
Departing Taipei, Cilan Forest Recreation Area is our first stop. A centre housed a Forestry Museum, a restaurant and Cilan Forest Resort is a hidden gem here. Together with Divine Tree Park, it is part of MaKau Ecological Park, 1500m above sea level. Hundreds of majestic Cypress Tree can be found in the Giant Tree Garden with some named after Chinese celebrities in history according to their age. A series of pools, gardens and walking trails can be found here. If you love nature and enjoy the incredible serenity of forest beauty, this is the place to indulge. Day 2: Explore Taipingshan
Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Centre is a popular outdoor destination. With incredible misty snow capped mountain peaks in winter and cool pleasant summers, Taipingshan is busy all year round. Soak in its numerous hot-springs, explore its walking trails, beautiful waterfalls and scenic mountain views, it’s a nature lover’s paradise. Hot-springs soak in private or public pools are one of its major attractions, including picturesque Cueifeng Lake, the largest alpine lake in Taiwan. If you are tired, you can take a rest with food or coffee in Cueifeng Lake’s Café. Other attractions include the 900m walking trails of old railway ruins, under towering giant cypress trees. Continue to the top to discover breathtaking views of the mountains and its surroundings. Hop on Taipingshan’s renowned “Bong Bong Train” for a fun ride to another site in the mountains. Return to Taipei with unforgettable memories of Taipingshan’s beauty.
